You should never enter a marriage believing that it will fail. Whenever you get married, you should be convinced that it will not fail. Otherwise, you probably have some sort of doubt about the relationship you are in.

Marriage is a long–term commitment and a huge event, so people who get married should always be sure that the person they are marrying is the right person for them. This means that they should not have feelings for anyone else. If they do, they should be fair to themselves and the person they are engaged to and call off the wedding. This may seem dramatic and depressing, but it is not nearly as depressing as a divorce a few years into the future.

People often feel that they can try to “make a marriage work.” This is possible if you go to counseling and really work on building a healthy marriage. Those who had doubts about a marriage before getting into it often end up with unhealthy marriages.
