After just getting engaged, there are a few obstacles which can be ahead of you. First of all, the planning of a wedding can be extremely stressful and can be considered quite a challenge. A couple needs to not only find money to pay for the wedding if their family will not assist with it, they need to plan the wedding and the reception.
Secondly, you need to discuss the financial aspects of your marriage. This includes how bills will be divided. Some couple want to get a joint bank account to just pay bills from, while others want to separate bills evenly to attempt to maintain fairness. Both ways work fine for many couples, so it is a matter of opinion about which one works the best. Financial issues can create many arguments for a couple, and talking about money at first can be awkward for some people who are just moving in together.
